FAQ

General Concepts and Benefits

Reusable cups are containers made from durable materials (such as polypropylene or polycarbonate) that can be washed and reused multiple times without losing their properties. Unlike disposable cups, these are not thrown away after a single use, which significantly reduces waste generation.

  • Environmental: Drastic reduction of waste, reduced use of natural resources (paper, plastic) and reduced carbon footprint.
  • Economic: Long-term savings, lower waste management costs, and the possibility of monetizing reuse (e.g., sale as merchandising).

By implementing reusable cups and showcasing waste reduction metrics, your event aligns with responsible practices, enhances attendee perception, and reinforces your image of sustainability and innovation.

It involves managing the entire logistics of the cups: from their design or rental to delivery at bars, collection, washing, and storage. This ensures their multiple use and avoids resorting to disposable options.

Yes. Festivals such as Primavera Sound, Cruïlla, Brunch Electronik, and Sónar, and venues such as Palau Sant Jordi or the Estadi Olímpic have reduced plastic waste by more than 80% and improved their environmental reputation.

Yes, depending on the region, there may be regulations that require reducing single-use plastics. Many cities and venues are already actively promoting this.

Preparation and Requirements for Events

  • Reusable cups with sufficient stock.
  • Collection system (counting boxes, containers, or Smart Containers).
  • Trained staff to explain and manage the use of the cups.
  • Restocking and cleaning logistics to ensure clean cups throughout the event.

It depends on the number of attendees, the duration, the type of beverages, and the restocking system. It is recommended to have between 3 and 4 cups per person. ENCORE advises based on real data from similar events.

  • Event date and setup days.
  • Location and access points of the venue.
  • Contact information for the on-site manager.
  • Details regarding delivery and pickup (schedules, temporary storage).

If production is already in progress, additional costs or alterations to delivery times may occur.

Cup Design and Customization

  • Screen printing (1-2 inks, faster, for simple designs).
  • IML (In-Mold Labeling): for more complex designs or high visual impact.
Logos, texts, colors, and QR codes can be added. The design team adapts each project to your branding needs.

ENCORE has a catalog of over 40 models. You can choose capacity, style, printing technique, and receive support from the design team to define the ideal graphic approach.

Materials, Quality, and Durability

Food-grade materials such as polypropylene (PP), SAN, Tritan, or polycarbonate are used. All are safe, resistant to high temperatures, and suitable for both cold and hot beverages.

  • Certified manufacturing with quality standards.
  • Unbreakable design that withstands drops and intensive rotation.
  • Production and washing controls that ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Event logistics

ENCORE! designates an operations team with a project director or leader who coordinates logistics and manages the cups during the event.

The arrival of cups, the ENCORE! team (if applicable), and support elements (such as Smart Containers) are coordinated in advance. An installation area and schedule are defined to avoid interfering with other activities.

  • Counting boxes for collecting dirty cups.
  • Containers or Smart Containers for automatic return (if included).
  • Film, pallets, racks, or other materials for proper handling.

Yes. ENCORE! personnel can be included to manage restocking, cup returns, and resolve any issues. Remote assistance is also available.

It is planned with the organizer to adapt the logistics to the access times, bar set-up, and attendee flow.

  • Prior testing of scanners, containers, or POS systems.
  • Staff training.
  • Stock verification and constant restocking planning.
  • Clear signage.
  • Informed staff.
  • Accessible spaces for returning and collecting cups.

Post-event and sustainability

How are the cups collected once the event is over?

After closing, all boxes with dirty cups and unused cups are collected. They are palletized separately and removed by specialized transport to facilitate disassembly.

The cups go through pre-washing, professional washing, and drying in the specialized center. Quality controls are carried out and a sustainability report is generated with data on reused cups and waste avoided.

A count is performed before and after washing. You will receive a detailed digital report with clean, damaged, lost stock, and the environmental impact of the event.

You can contact ENCORE! to compare the reports and, if necessary, physically re-examine the material in the warehouse or at the washing center.

It is an official document that certifies the number of cups reused, the waste avoided, and the reduced carbon footprint. You can share it on networks and media as proof of your event's environmental commitment.

It can be planned in advance, especially at multi-day events. It is possible to organize intermediate washes and new deliveries of clean cups.

How and where are the cups stored after washing?

  • Economic savings.
  • Reinforcement of brand identity.
  • Reduced environmental impact by extending the lifespan of the cups.

Loyalty

Yes. ENCORE! offers:

  • Special rates and discounts for returning customers.
  • Possibility of establishing long-term contracts with additional benefits in storage and washing.
There is currently no formal program, but new developments are in the works.

Printing and graphic design

  • Screen printing: direct printing on the cup, 1 or 2 flat inks, without gradients or shadows. Limited coverage.
  • IML (In-Mold Labeling): full-color printing on a label that is integrated into the cup mold. Allows for photographs, CMYK colors, and near-total coverage.
  • In screen printing: around the cup with margins without printing (15 mm at the back, and also at the top and bottom).
  • In IML: almost the entire surface, except for a small space on the back.

You can request design templates. These indicate printable areas, safety margins, and technical requirements per model and print type.

  • Screen printing: does not cover the entire cup.
  • IML: almost the entire surface is printable, except for a small joint on the back.

Yes, since the cups are conical, there may be a slight curvature. It is recommended to send the logo in a separate layer to adjust its placement and avoid visual distortions.

Yes, especially on conical cups. Our design team ensures the result is visually effective.

  • Screen printing: does not allow it, only flat inks and defined lines.
  • IML: it does allow gradients, shadows and photographic effects (CMYK).

In both methods, there is a small area without printing. It is recommended to avoid placing key elements in that area.

  • Screen printing: between 2 and 3 weeks from design validation.
  • IML: between 4 and 5 weeks, as it requires printing the label and integrating it into the mold.
In high season, deadlines may be extended. It is recommended to validate the design in advance.
